STORY:GNV 2017 // RESILIENCE
OCTOBER 21, 2017
Developing Personal and Professional Resilience Through Story
Resilience is defined as your ability to overcome and recover from stressful situations, rather than avoid them. In other words, resilience is the human ability to bounce back from the difficult moments that life throws at us and rise up, stronger than ever. Being grounded in your story enhances your ability to overcome current obstacles through pulling from previous lived experiences. Storytelling develops resilience. This is true at the personal level, the organizational level and the community level. The stories we tell and how we tell them effect our ability to be resilient. This year, the theme for STORY:GNV is “Resilience” and our speakers will present ways in which we can develop resilience through story.
WHAT IS STORY:GNV?
STORY:GNV is Gainesville’s first conference to use storytelling to showcase how we can connect with others more thoughtfully, do business more efficiently and change our communities more wholeheartedly. STORY:GNV is bringing together a diverse group of individuals from three of Gainesville’s largest industries – Healthcare, Education, and Business – to share the ways that storytelling impacts their work. Gather ’round the proverbial campfire, Gainesville.
We have an amazing group of speakers lined up for STORY:GNV 2017. Click on each of the speakers' names to learn more about them! Click the button below to see all of our speakers!
